A Note From Alia, the Volunteer Coordinator

Hello Neighbors:

In case you're not familiar with the Eco Pass program, this is an unlimited bus pass for the RTD system, including all regional buses and the SkyRide. If you go to the airport and/or Denver even a few times a year, the pass generally pays for itself pretty quickly. Thanks to GO Boulder, it also includes a variety of discounts with local retailers. This year, we're hoping to get the Southern Sun on board!

Each year neighborhoods must qualify for the program, which requires negotiating some rather convoluted rules and regulations. Happily, last year we had great success in getting several blocks qualified, and we're hoping to expand that success this year.

We'll have an Eco Pass Table at the Pancake breakfast in September where anyone can chat with us personally and qualified neighbors can purchase a pass if they have not done so already*.

Each block interested in qualifying for an Eco Pass will need a coordinator. From my experience last year, this will require a commitment of 4-6 hours spread over a few weeks. Last year, I found this to be a wonderful way to meet my neighbors, and as the volunteer coordinator, I'll be happy to work with block leaders to show you the ropes and support your efforts.

At this point, we don't have details on program pricing and deadlines, but we will update with this information as we receive it.

Thanks for your time, and hope to see you on the bus soon!

Alia Ghandour
